SilverWhere-Dining Management for Cruise Ships

Effective dining-room management is a growing challenge as the size of many cruise vessels continues to increase and cruise operators strive to maximize restaurant productivity.

Backstage Software’s SilverWhere Dining Management for Cruise Ships ®, widely used throughout the cruise industry, offers exceptional functionality to support high standards of restaurant service while ensuring maximum crew productivity.

SilverWhere can reside both ashore and on board ship. Shoreside, the system enables the pre-assignment of dining tables to cruise guests on the basis of demographics including age, nationality, stateroom category, booking date and party size. It can also be used as a back-end system to maintain pre-cruise reservations for specialty restaurants.

On board ship, the system enables dining room managers to configure dining room layout and display each one graphically, together with the status of every table. A number of restaurants can be viewed on one reservation form and integration with Fidelio Cruise’s SPMS means that individual passenger details, special requests and dietary requirements are visible and automatically updated.

Extensive functionality includes:

• Automatic assignment of dining tables according to demographics, to specific waiter stations, to groups, and in table sizes. A 2500-guest cruise vessel can be seated in just three minutes

• Table assignment rules to determine guest seating priorities

- Graphical display can be configured in layout and type and size of table, with table status constantly monitored and updated

- Multiple dining rooms and seating arrangements can be viewed on one reservation form, separated by folder tabs

- Integration with Fidelio Cruise SPMS makes available up-to-date passenger information, special requests and voyage itinerary

- Open Seating module - monitors the status of tables occupied in open seating restaurants and which guests are seated at which tables

- Specialty Restaurant module - provides the ability to manage restaurant availability, take reservations from multiple shipboard locations and then manage the check-in and seating at the restaurant

- Extensive operational and analytical reporting is available through the use of Crystal Reports.
